Decorating your house or your office space can be fun but sometimes difficult especially if you are not naturally artistic and don’t know how to begin. Most interior designers will suggest choosing an artwork that gives you a feel of happiness or that makes you relax. An artwork that you love. But there are also other things to consider, so here we share a few tips in choosing the right artwork for your space.

Size

This is one of the first problems people encounter when decorating their space. They don’t know whether to choose a big artwork or a small one. When choosing a size of the artwork always consider your wall space and it’s orientation. Assess your wall and measure it. If you are still confused, keep in mind that larger pieces are always a good start.

Color

A simple tip in choosing the right color of your wall art  is to choose a color that compliments the furniture and the wall paint. You can use a color wheel to check the color that compliments each other. When in doubt you can never go wrong with a black and white wall art.

Frame

Frame is the finishing touch of the artwork. Choosing the right frame can not only enhance the aesthetic of your artwork but also protects it from damage caused by light or exposure. A tip in choosing a frame is not to use a color that is similar to the artwork. Your frame and artwork must have a little contrast in color to emphasize your artwork.

Style/Theme of your Space

One of the easiest ways to choose an artwork for your wall is to look for something that matches the current style of your space. A black and white photograph works well in a contemporary themed room and a colorful artwork works best for an eclectic themed room.
